Ezhumattoor Panchayat comprises the two villages of Ezhumattoor and Thelliyoor. Following the ward delimitation of local self-government institutions in 2025, the Grama Panchayat consists of 15 wards. A governing body comprising 15 members assumed office through the 2025 General Election.

Ezhumattoor Grama Panchayat is a local body consisting of 2 villages, Ezhumattoor and Thelliyoor, in Koipuram Block Panchayat of Mallappally Taluk of Pathanamthitta district. As per the 2025 ward delimiation of local bodies, the Grama Panchayat has 15 wards. This Grama Panchayat is part of Ranni Legislative Assembly constituency and Pathanamthitta Parliamentary constituency. Kottanad and Ayiroor Grama Panchayats are located in the east of the Panchayat, Mallappally and Puramattom Grama Panchayats in the west, Kottangal Grama Panchayat in the north, and Thottapuzhassery and Koipram Grama Panchayats in the south. This Grama Panchayat has an area of 23.27 sq km and has a population of 18,799 as per the 2011 census. Of these, 8,945 are males and 9,854 are females. The number of Scheduled Castes is 1,777 and the number of Scheduled Tribes is 88. The literacy rate of the panchayat is 100 percent.

History of Grama Panchayat

It is said that because a member of the Koickal family held an official position in the Travancore Royal Family, the regions (karas) of Ezhumattoor and Thelliyoor were granted to the Koickal family as tax-free lands. It is believed that the original seat of the Koickal family was at Thelliyoor, as indicated by the names of certain homesteads that still exist there. Even today, the place where the road leading to these homesteads begins is known as Kottiyambalam.
